Objectives | In this empirical seminar, students investigate capital market related research questions by applying numerical software (e.g. Python or R). Subsequently, results are evaluated economically and presented scientifically. |

Introductory course to academic research | We offer an introductory course into research, scientific writing, LaTeX, Python and R, held at the beginning of the lecture period. It is structured as an in-person presentation series (with hands on excercises and ample room for your questions). Details are available here on our website. If this is the first paper/thesis you write with the IBF, participating in the introductory course is mandatory. Alternatively, we offer the methodological introduction as an online ILIAS-course. It is available on demand (any time during the term and also after the binding registration). Nevertheless, we highly recommend attending the in-person course at the start of the term. |
