Requirements and Support
ObjectivesIn this empirical seminar, students investigate capital market related research questions by applying numerical software (e.g. Python or R). Subsequently, results are evaluated economically and presented scientifically.
PrerequisitesBWL III
Introductory course to academic researchWe offer an introductory course into research, scientific writing, LaTeX, Python and R, held at the beginning of the lecture period. It is structured as an in-person presentation series (with hands on excercises and ample room for your questions). Details are available here on our website. If this is the first paper/thesis you write with the IBF, participating in the introductory course is mandatory. Alternatively, we offer the methodological introduction as an online ILIAS-course. It is available on demand (any time during the term and also after the binding registration). Nevertheless, we highly recommend attending the in-person course at the start of the term.
Formal guidelinesGuidelines for the preparation of scientific papers are available in Stud.IP.
